The GEOSATpro 4 degree dual LNBF rotating clamp is a unique and exclusive design developed by Satellite AV to be specifically matched with 2 - GEOSATpro SL2 Bullet LNBFs and the GEOSATpro 90cm Satellite Dish or equivalent OEM dish manufactured by Azure Shine. This special bracket allows for precise placement of two LNBFs to optimize reception from two satellites. Perfect for receiving the international Lao / Thai channels from both satellites SES1 and Galaxy19 or any other two satellites separated by 4 degrees using a single dish!
Why is it necessary to have a rotating bracket to hold the two LNBFs?
Satellites orbit the earth 23,000 miles above the equator. From your install location, this arc of satellites follows a curve starting on the Eastern horizon following to the highest point directly South and then slopes to the Western horizon. If you are aiming at two satellites directly south of your install location, the two satellites will be at a similar elevation as one another. If the two satellites are located to the East or West of your install location, the two satellites will be at different elevations. Precise aiming is critical! Even a fraction of a degree movement will result in Signal Quality loss.
How does the GEOSATpro design provide optimal performance?
The GEOSATpro 4 degree dual LNBF rotating clamp simply aligns the two LNBFs at the correct elevation exactly in the factory designed focus point or sweet spot of the reflector. Our unique design also allows each LNBF's skew (rotation) and fore / aft alignments to be individually fine tuned to match the exact focal distance, signal convergence point and polarization skew for each satellite. There is no other simple solution available that allows this amount of flexibility and ability to peak the signal quality, while remaining extremely easy to adjust!
What alternative solutions are available?
Other distributors offer inferior solutions to receive two satellites. The monoblock design appears to be a great solution, but in reality the design does not allow the optimization required to reliably receive two satellites in the wide latitudes of Central and North America. The two feedhorns are fixed and cannot be skewed or otherwise adjusted to precisely match the incoming signal. The resulting signal loss translates to mean lower signal quality and less channels. Another competitor's design uses a curved track to roughly place the LNBFs into a mismatched position. Since the LNBFs are raised out of the CAD designed factory placements with this solution, the distributors recommend adjusting the dish to a higher elevation and cross the LNBF feed horn to catch part of the reflected signal from the dish's reflector. These methods result in inefficient performance as the reflector is no longer focusing all of the gathered satellite signals into the two LNBFs and the offset LNBF is no longer aimed into the sweet spot of the reflector. Signals that normally would be perfectly reflected into a correctly positioned LNBF, bounce off missing the collecting feedhorns. These solutions also often require larger reflectors to overcome the loss caused by the mismatch and are certainly not installer or home owner friendly.
Ease of installation and reliable reception of two satellites with a single dish demands precise placement of both LNBFs within a specific bracket designed for a specific satellite dish. Do not be fooled by claims that alternative two satellite solutions will perform with any dish. This is physical impossibility!
